Esteban Villegas

Born into a Catholic and Mexican-American family in Southern California with two parents who work in the public sector, Esteban’s conservatism was always stacked against seemingly impossible odds. Political interests took a while to develop, even though he was often the most politically knowledgeable person in his elementary school classes. Growing up, he attended Catholic school, and his interests lied in sports. He played Baseball, Basketball, soccer, and practiced martial arts on most of his free time. For the majority of Esteban’s childhood, it seemed that sports were going to be the promise of his high school years, and the prime of his adolescence. Unfortunately, the sporting world came to a devastating end when he did not make it into the baseball team freshman year. Despite the despondency of baseball being permanently taken from him, there were several other areas of talent where he could thrive. One day he found out that his school, Bishop Amat Memorial High School, had a theater program that was going to produce the musical “Grease” in the Spring. He quickly secured his spot on the audition sheet. In the span of 5 years, Esteban had obtained lead roles in “Fiddler on The Roof”, “Grease”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin”, “Wizard of Oz”, “Cat in The Hat”, “The little Mermaid” (small role), “And then there were none”, and The Addams Family— his final musical. He was also in the school’s premiere vocal ensemble for 3 years in which he got the chance to travel to Rome and sing in the Vatican in a Holy Mass presided over by Pope Francis. In high school, Esteban was known as the extroverted choir and theater kid, who was always politically opinionated. Although he has varied interests, Esteban is someone who has always enjoyed a thoughtful debate or exchange of ideas. After graduating High School in 2017, Esteban and his best friend (who is not a Conservative), created “Conservative Analysis”, which recently surpassed 10,000 views on YouTube. He currently attends California State University Polytechnic Pomona, where he is majoring in Political Science, and planning to go to Law School. Esteban has never missed Sunday mass, never owned video games, never seen The Godfather, and never been bested in a political debate. He enjoys superhero movies, soup, listening to podcasts, and spending time with his girlfriend.
